Asa spent all morning working on a game that we made last night. Really he made it, and I gave helpful suggestions. It's amazing--very complex and complete and actually fun to play. I am so delighted to have him doing something so creative--it's so much better than "screen time", which I am disliking immensely these days.
He sure is a cutie, though. Maybe that has something to do with the two giant bags of cuties our family has inhaled over the past two days? Hmmm....
Samara organized a doll tea party this morning, which was originally just for the two of us, and her dolls. But I let her serve some leftover Christmas chocolate to the "dolls" (me), and then it turned out everyone wanted to come to the tea party. She planned an activity (draw something you want to know more about) and made loads of little playdoh candies with her new playdoh machine. Phin John was asked to leave for "unappropriate tea party behavior", which was mostly not having any tea and drawing a dot for his picture and burping. Asa won the award (a candy cane) for best tea party behavior, and I got fourth place. Go figure!
I've got to remember how to take a good picture, but I love both of those cuties and can't leave this pic out.
And here we are at naptime, with Samara reading to ilo for an hour, all kinds of books, with a dreary day out the window and the warm fire inside.
I felt so blissfully happy today. Happy to be home with my littles, doing nothing, in our PJs, in the mess, choosing to be together. It's going to be such a fun, excited, eventful new year. I'm sure of it!
